OnCourse Connect Parent Portal FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions:
OnCourse Connect Parent Portal
Q: What is OnCourse Connect Parent Portal?
A: The OnCourse Connect Parent Portal is a secure-web based application that provides parents and guardians with real time student information, including: student schedules, attendance, bus routes, and grades. It is also a place to complete the annual enrollment update and to provide contact information changes during the school year.
Q: How do I get an account for OnCourse Connect?
A: If you are a returning guardian you should have already been issued an OnCourse Connect Account. If you have not received an account and your email is registered with the district please use the forgot password feature found at the OnCourse Connect website. If your email has not been registered with the district please contact parent.portal@sayrevillek12.net for assistance.
If you are the guardian of a new registrant to the district, you can obtain an OnCourse connect account using the forgot password feature located at the OnCourse Connect website once your email has been registered with the district and finalized as part of your registration process. If you experience problems please contact parent.portal@sayrevillek12.net You do not need to complete the annual enrollment update for the school year that you register as a new student, as you have already completed a new registrant form for this upcoming school year.
Q: How do I complete the annual enrollment update?
A: For guardians of returning students entering you use your existing OnCourse Connect account to complete the annual enrollment update. The annual enrollment update will be completed at the OnCourse Connect website.
Q: Once I complete the annual enrollment update, how long do I have to wait for bus routes and student schedules?
A: Student schedules and bus routes will be released by the school district in late August. Once you complete the annual enrollment update, you will be automatically returned to OnCourse Connect. At that point, you will be eligible to receive student information upon its release. Unlike our previous registration systems, there is no delay between completion of the annual enrollment update and access to the Parent Portal.
Q: I am a student. Can I complete the annual enrollment update?
A: No. The annual enrollment update is only available to guardian accounts for OnCourse Connect and it is designed to be completed by a parent/guardian. If your parent/guardian has not completed the enrollment update, you will not be able to access your schedule and/or bus information via OnCourse Connect.
If you are a student entering the middle school or high school for the next school year, you will be issued an OnCourse Connect account you can use your district login to access OnCourse Connect. This account will only display your schedule and/or bus information if your parent/guardian has completed the annual enrollment update.
Q: I completed the annual enrollment update, but I am not able to access OnCourse Connect?
A: While there could be a technical reason for this, it is most likely because your child’s school has put a block on the account. This could be for reasons such as outstanding fines or schoolbooks that have not been returned. Please send us an email, and you will be directed to the appropriate person to resolve any outstanding situations that might be causing a block on your account.
Q: I am not receiving mass mailings, Bomber Blasts, or Secure Document emails from the Sayreville School District.
A: If you are not currently receiving emails from the Sayreville Public School District, it is possible that you have marked our emails as spam, unsubscribed from our automatic email system, have an invalid email address on file with the school district, or you are using an AOL email address, which blocks our automated email system. If you need assistance re-enrolling in district emails, please send us an email. If you are using an AOL email address, we strongly encourage you to utilize an alternate email address for school communications. Please send us an email to update the email address on file with the district.
Q: I logged in to OnCourse Connect but there is virtually no information displayed.
A: During the summer, there is limited information available on OnCourse Connect. Student schedules and bus routes will not be available until late August. During the school year, there will be active, real time data available from OnCourse Connect.
Q: Can OnCourse Connect be translated in to other languages?
A: Yes, OnCourse Connect is compatible with Google Translate.
Q: I need assistance with OnCourse Connect.
A: Please send us an email. Please be aware that at this time of year, we can experience high volumes of support requests. Emails are answered in the order they are received, and as quickly as possible. If phone support is required, the person responding to your email will setup a contact time and number to speak with the appropriate representative within the School District.

Graduating Seniors - Save Your Files
Graduating High School seniors have the ability to export the contents of their Sayreville-issued Google accounts for future personal use by using Google Takeout. This services allows students to save the contents of their GMail, Google Drive, and other Google Services for later personal use. This service is only available during the month of June for grade 12 students. Students that do not export their content will lose access to that content once they have graduated and their accounts are inactivated.

Chromebook Insurance (Grades 8 - 12)
Students in grades 8 through 12 are responsible for the care of the 1:1 Chromebook issued to them by Sayreville Public Schools. In order to reduce potential out-of-pocket costs for repairs, we have partnered with School Device Coverage to offer insurance on school Chromebooks. Plans for the 2024-2025 school year cost $26 to cover the Chromebook or $36 to cover both the Chromebook and charger. The plans offer unlimited claims and are valid for the full school year and the summer following the end of the school year.
Purchasing an insurance plan from School Device Coverage can save parents/guardians a substantial amount of money in the event of an accident. For reference, repairing a broken screen costs $56.20, replacing a lost charger costs $35, and replacing a lost, stolen, or significantly damaged Chromebook costs $275.
For additional information on the insurance plan offered by School Device Coverage or to enroll for coverage, see THIS FLYER.
Para la versión en español, consulte ESTE FOLLETO.
Please note that, in the event of damage, a parent/guardian should log into their insurance account to submit a claim. The school technician will then process repairs against an approved claim. Damaged devices brought in for repair without an approved insurance claim or without an active insurance plan will result in fees being assessed to the child's account. When fees are assessed, parents/guardians will receive an invoice via email.
This insurance is available for all 1:1 devices issued to grade 8-12 students, whether it is a new device that was issued this school year or renewing/adding coverage to a device that was issued during a prior school year.
To enroll for insurance, parents/guardians must provide the serial number of the Chromebook being covered and the Student ID number of their child. Student ID numbers can be found on the OnCourse Connect parent portal on the Student Info tab, labeled "Local Student Identification Number." The serial number for the Chromebook can be found in two places:
1) While the Chromebook is powered on but not logged in, the serial number will display in the upper-right corner of the screen.
2) On the underside of the Chromebook, the serial number is printed on a label like the one below
Note that serial numbers generally begin with 5CD and are 10-characters long.
