High School Course Requirements
Science Course Placement Criteria for 2016 – 17
Note: All placement criteria exists at the time of course registration. To be eligible to enroll in two 6.0 credit lab sciences, students must have a semester average of A in their current Science, Math and LAL courses. Additionally they must have a grade of A on their current math and science course quarterly exams. Recommendations by teachers for students who would like to take two 6.0 credit lab sciences will be made based on satisfying the pre-requisites for both courses through the Supervisor.
Waivers will not be entertained for AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental or AP Physics.
AP COURSE PRE-REQUISITES
AP Biology
- B in Biology Honors OR A in Biology CP (6)
- B in Chemistry CP (6) or higher
- A in Current LAL Course
- Completed AP Science Application
AP Chemistry
- Semester 1 Average of A in current Science and Math Courses
- B in Chemistry Honors OR A in Chemistry CP (6)
- B in Algebra 2 CP or higher
- Completed AP Science Application
AP Environmental
- B in Biology Honors OR A in Biology CP (6)
- B in Chemistry CP (6) or higher
- B in Algebra 2 CP or higher
- Completed AP Science Application
AP Physics (Currently run through APEX)
- A in Physics
- B in Algebra 2 CP or higher
- Concurrent enrollment in Pre-Calculus or higher
- Completed AP Science Application

Biology Honors
- Average of A in General Science CP
- Average of B+ in current LAL Course
- Quarterly Assessment grades of A- or higher in current science course

- Students not meeting the requirements for above will be placed in Biology CP (5)
Chemistry Honors

- Teacher recommendation
- Concurrent enrollment or completion of Algebra 2 CP or higher
Chemistry CP (6)
